The Omicron PI Foundation is dedicated to building a brighter future for Friars Point, Mississippi. We serve as a community partner, focusing on youth engagement programs that preserve our heritage and foster a sense of pride among residents. Our initiatives aim to enrich our culture through innovative construction and community development, ensuring that our town thrives for generations to come.

We are committed to creating programs that engage youth and empower residents to take an active role in shaping their future. By fostering collaboration and innovative solutions, we strive to cultivate a vibrant community that honors its past while looking forward to a prosperous future.

Brother Melvin Brown Jr.

Brother Melvin Brown Jr., is a native Texan born in Galveston, Texas. His education includes graduating from Central High School located in Galveston He went on to graduated from Bishop College-Dallas, Texas 1971 (BA Economics), Southern University-Baton Rouge, LA (Masters Political Science) and a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He entered the US Army as a Private First Class in 1972 then to Officer's Candidate School and  Retired as a MAJ in 1993 and founded the American National Home Healthcare Corporation located in Killeen, Texas and St. Louis, Missouri.

Melvin became an Educator with the  Killeen Independent School District 1999-201. He has served in many leadership roles to include: Past President Central Texas Players Golf Association, Past President Co-Bell Division American Heart Association, Past Basileus, Omicron Pi Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Killeen/Fort Hood Texas, Co-Founder of The First Tee of Killeen, Founder and Director of Omicron Pi Foundation,  President Killeen and Current President of The Southwestern Regional Golf Association (Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana).

Brother Carlo S. Davis

Brother Carlo S. Davis is a progressive leader of the 21st century and has been a member of Omicron Pi since 2016, currently serving as the NAACP Chair and Auditor of the OP Foundation, initiated in Lambda Beta Beta Chapter, June 18, 2010. Bro Davis was elected Basileus of Omicron Pi in November 2022; 2-time recipient of the Colonel Charles Young Military leadership award (LBB & OP) and chaired numerous committees within the two chapters. 

Brother Davis is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Danville High School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management (Magna Cum Laude) at Ashford University and holds a Master’s in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) at Trident University International. Carlo is also an alumnus of the UNC-Chapel Hill Institute for Defense and Business Fellowship in Strategic Studies. 
 
Brother Davis is a Chief Warrant Officer Five (CW5) Field Artillery Targeting Officer in the U.S. Army and currently assigned to III Corps HQs at Fort Hood. Within his 30 years of service, he has held a variety of duty and leadership positions within the U.S. Army. Carlo is also certified by the DOD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program, serving as a Victim Advocate / Sexual Assault Response Coordinator.
 
Carlo is an active member of the community; Brother Davis has devoted his time and talents to a multitude of organizations. Some of Brother Davis’s organizational leadership includes: the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Past Chair of Trustee Board, NAACP life member, 2nd VP, Past Chair of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Committee, he is a Past District President of the District 26B Texas Jurisdiction, Past District President of the Far East York Rite Bodies, Past President of Alvin B. Amos Lodge #645, Past President of Hiram Royal Arch Chapter #142, Past President of I.H. Clayborne #39, Knights Templar, Past President of Matthew Ellis Consistory #360, a Scottish Rite 33° degree Mason, Past State President of Royal Arch Masons of Texas and a member of Nubia Shriner Temple #191, Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society member, Past Post Commander of VFW Post 9191, Past District 14 VFW Commander, currently the #3 State Officer for the Knights Templar of Texas. Brother Davis is married to the former Lee Anna James of Omaha Nebraska, and they have five children.

Arthur L. Bryan

Arthur L. Bryan is from Charleston, South Carolina and a graduate of Charles Allen Brown High School’s Class of 1970. He performed in the marching, concert and stage bands as well as the concert choir and The Choral Ensemble.

 

Arthur was a founding member of the “Soul Variations Showtime Band”. He made the All-State Band sponsored by South Carolina State College for high school band students (Now SCSU). He went to Morris College and The Citadel after graduating from C.A. Brown.

 

The fall of 1971 Arthur transferred to Texas College. In 1975 he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Texas College in Tyler, Texas. He did his graduate studies at East Texas State University and Texas State University. He taught at Texas College as Choir Director and later as the Admissions Counselor.


Arthur enlisted in the United States Army Band Field in 1981 and retired in 2001. During that time he was stationed with the 1st Cavalry Division Band at Fort Hood, Texas; 2nd Infantry Division Band at Camp Casey, South Korea and the 8th Army Band at Yongsan, Seoul, Korea. Arthur was deployed to Desert Shield/Desert Storm as well as Bosnia with the 1st Cavalry Division Band. He had the opportunities of performing in many countries of the world to include performances with the Russian Band, Korean Band, Bosnian Bands, German Bands and Turkish Bands.
